Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Veriqon processes, why it is processed, which providers are involved, and what choices you have regarding your information.

Last updated: March 19, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Veriqon collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our mobile app, website, share extension, and related services.

It applies to information you provide directly, information we receive through your use of Veriqon, and limited information we receive from third-party services you use to sign in or submit content.

2. Information we collect

Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we may receive identifiers and profile details such as your name, email address, avatar, and provider-specific account identifier, depending on what the provider shares with us. If magic link sign-in is enabled, we also process your email address to send the sign-in link.

Content and usage data. When you submit a supported URL for analysis, we process the link, related metadata, captions, extracted text, transcripts, images, thumbnails, generated reports, source lists, and history of checks associated with your account.

Device and app data. We may process technical information needed to operate the service, such as platform type, app behavior related to authentication, and secure session tokens stored on your device.

Push notification data. If notifications are enabled, we store your Expo push token and related metadata so we can send analysis-complete notifications.

Subscription and quota data. We store plan type, billing interval, quota period, and subscription status information needed to manage access to paid features.

Support and feedback data. If you report an issue or contact us, we may store the message, selected reason, optional free-text description, and the relevant URL or account context.

3. How we use information

We use personal data to operate Veriqon, authenticate you, provide analysis results, maintain your history, enforce subscription limits, process restores, deliver notifications, improve system quality, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.

We also use data to monitor reliability, diagnose errors, and understand service costs and performance.

4. Legal bases

Where applicable, we process personal data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, because we have legitimate interests in operating and securing Veriqon, because you asked us to take a step before providing the service, or because you gave consent where consent is required.

5. Third-party processors and service providers

To operate Veriqon, we may share relevant data with service providers that help us deliver the service. These may include Apple and Google for sign-in, AI infrastructure providers for transcription and content analysis, content retrieval services for supported platforms, Expo for push notifications, and Resend for magic link email delivery when that sign-in option is enabled.

We share only the data reasonably needed for those providers to perform their services for us. Those providers may process data on servers located in different countries according to their own terms and privacy practices.

6. AI processing

When you submit content for verification, it may be processed by secure third-party AI services to analyze claims, extract relevant information, and generate fact-check reports.

Only the content you submit (such as links, extracted text, and metadata) is sent for processing. We do not sell personal data and only use submitted content for verification purposes.

7. Caching, history, and retention

We cache analysis results and maintain account-linked history to improve response time, reduce duplicate processing, support reporting features, and operate your subscription quota.

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Veriqon, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security and operational records. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and whether your account remains active.

When you delete your account (via the app or by contacting us), we permanently remove your personal profile, check history, session tokens, and push tokens. Anonymized, aggregated data such as cached analysis results and cost records may be retained without any link to your identity.

8. Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use your push token to send service-related notifications, such as when an analysis is finished. You can disable notifications in your device settings, and we may deactivate inactive tokens on our systems.

9. Children

Veriqon is not directed to children under the age at which they can validly consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child provided personal data to us in violation of applicable law, contact us and we will review the request.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to request a copy of certain data.

You can stop using Veriqon at any time, log out of the app, disable notifications in your device settings, and cancel subscriptions through Apple if purchased via the App Store.

You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly from the app by going to Profile and tapping "Delete Account". Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings before or after deleting your account — deleting the account does not automatically cancel billing.

You can also request deletion by contacting us at [email protected].

11. International transfers

Because Veriqon and its providers may operate in more than one country, your data may be processed outside your country of residence. Where required, we use reasonable steps to protect data transferred across borders.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. No sale of personal data

We do not sell your personal data for money. We do not use Veriqon as an advertising data broker.

14. Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on this page. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice inside the app or on the website.

15. Contact

For privacy questions or data requests, contact [email protected].
